He was owner of Hendel's Market in Florissant for 47 years, life member of the American Legion Post 444, member of the Holy Name Society, Sacred Heart Choir, Knights of Columbus Duchesne Council and Florissant Valley Barbershop Chorus.

Henry has not been an active member for some years now, but he never stopped being a cheerleader for our group. He continued to tell his friends (actually anyone he saw) about the barbershoppers and attend our shows for as long as he was able. It was a real joy to sing with Henry when he was active because of his positive attitude and gregarious personality. No matter where we went to sing, he knew someone in the audience. We were truly fortunate to be associated with this good and honorable man.
